Neale Wade Community College is a large comprehensive school located in a rural residential area on the southern most edge of March, a Fenland market town in the Isle of Ely, Cambridgeshire. The school has expanded over its long history from a small Georgian villa to a large secondary modern community collage of 1950 students with a teaching staff of 90. Various additions to the school were added in the 50s 60s and 70s in a vernacular style of single and double storey buildings subsequently leading to a number of master planning and operational problems. These constraints mainly related to further expansion and how to improve access and site navigation within the range of existing buildings on an already congested site. Other recent development with the school were its award as a specialist college in ICT and mathematics as well as its important role in the provision of community based ICT awareness training and community use.
